Effortless Fall/Winter Beauty Tutorial
Hi! My name is Nichole Marie Lim and I am a freelance makeup artist, with the honor of working in video, editorial, commercial, and stage. I am very passionate about beauty and creativity on every level. Also, I just really love humans! Thank you to Sisters of Nature for having me, I am very excited to show you a few simple ways to bridge that Fall/Winter gap!
Before we start the makeup portion, we have to chat about the most important part-
Finding the right skin care regimen can be hard, so do whatever works for you! Make sure you are cleansing every night, exfoliating at least once a week, and moisturizing! Moisture is the most important thing you can do for your skin, even if you are prone to more oily skin. As far as your exfoilatior goes, just make sure it doesn't have anything in it like seeds or granules that will scratch your skin. I prefer glycolic acid, alpa hydroxy acid, and fruit enzymes. My favorite exfoliator is Juice Beauty's Green Apple Peel, it brightens and exfoliates which is exactly what you need when the dullness of winter hits.
OK let's talk make-up!
Begin with spritzing your face with a moisture locking spray. My favorite is Dermae Hydrating Mist with Hyaluronic Acid.
Mix your moisturizer with a luminescent cream like Feeling Younger by LUSH for gorgeous, dewy skin. For moisturizer, I am using Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre. It is my all time favorite for any skin type- it doubles as a primer.
Next step- Begin buffing in your foundation using an ultra plush buff brush. Real Techniques makes my favorite brushes. Try to keep very light pressure while blending. I am using MAC Face & Body foundations, it has a great finish and you can build on the coverage if you choose (by applying more to problem areas).
Apply a cream based concealer where you need it. Under eyes, around nose, and on any blemishes. Stick with a perfect match or go one shade lighter for this particular brightened look. I am using Tarte Amazonian Clay waterproof 12-hour concealer in Light.
To keep this look simple and all about the skin, I am applying bronze eyeliner on a brush and a swipe of brown eyeliner around my eyes for definition. You can skip this step for a more simple look.
For a soft and full look, I am using a darker shadow on an angle brush for definition and go over the brow hairs with a lighter gel. I love Serenity + Scott Brow Gel so much!
To spice this look up I am all about creating texture for my lashes. Maybelline Colossal Chaotic Lash is a perfect fit!
The crowning, glowing jewel in this whole process is a cream based illuminator on the high points of your face- your cheekbones, the bridge of your nose, the middle of your forehead, cupids bow, and your chin. MAC Cream Base in Pearl is my all time fave and it looks incredible on most everyone. If you are prone to more oily skin, feel free to use an illuminating powder!(bonus tip: pop a little on your collar bone or shoulders if they're showing) & there you have it! Thank you so much for stopping by and teaching us your beauty tricks, Nichole!
