Nashville Fashion Week Recap: Our First Runway Show

Hi there! I'm Kimberly (founder and creative director at Sisters of Nature) and I'm so excited to share my recap of our first runway show at Nashville Fashion Week. This was such an exciting show not only because it was our first one, but because it was the debut of our very own Sisters of Nature clothing label which will be launching this fall!
That's me in the center (above) with my pretty team of models! My inspiration behind the collection was the story of Heidi as you'll see little influences of throughout this collection.
With rich hues, hand embroidery and alluring lace, the Sisters of Nature 2016 Fall/Winter Collection embodies the bohemian chic woman who appreciates unique details and feminine design. The collection moves from deep navy tulle with all over floral pattern, to embroidered denim, to emerald lace to sheer oxblood netting with hand cut velvet appliqués in a cohesive color palette of folk influenced design.
Getting ready back stage was my favorite part! There was so much anticipation, excitement in the air and I loved the fantastic team at Williams Edge who helped bring my vision to life. I loved getting to see all my hard work come together in the collection. It felt like each look was meant perfectly for each model.
One of the founders of Nashville Fashion Week, Connie, told me to make sure I stopped to soak it all in because your first runway show only happens once and it'll all go by in the blink of an eye. I made sure to take lots of moments for that so I could always remember this time.
I was so thankful for Brenna and Stephanie who helped me dress the models and make sure everyone was looking perfect. All the sweet girls were such a joy to work with.
Connie helped make sure each model was walking perfectly down the runway for our practice run through and the Sisters of Nature team waited for all the guests to arrive to see our collection.
Once they were all dressed and ready to go my heart started racing as I could hear the crowds of people buzzing outside. I almost started crying, but pulled it together so I wasn't a teary mess on the runway.

Once all the models were lined up just behind the curtains it all came together, the music started and it was such a rush to share the collection on the runway with so many people. Here's a peek at each look from the runway by John Hillin.
You just have to see the front, back and profile of this one!
